January 29-31, 2010: Niagara Wine Trail Caribbean Cruise

This three-day, Caribbean-themed wine event provides separate tastings at 11 different Niagara Wine Trail wineries for a single $20 pre-sale price, or $25 at the door, with each winery representing a different island theme. You'll get a commemorative wine glass that you take from place to place, and participants will get a chance to win a $2,000 gift certificate for a Caribbean cruise. Participants need to schedule their own transportation from site to site, which is offered by local companies.

January 15-31, 2010: Niagara Icewine Festival

During the Niagara Icewine Festival, a $30 Discovery Pass is your ticket to sampling icewines and food pairings at six different Niagara wineries, spread across the Niagara-On-The-Lake region in Canada. Over 100 different events are also offered to Discovery Pass holders during the Festival, including separate tastings, pairings, and cooking demonstrations, an Icewine Gala, and much more. Individual admission fees for the events are generally $10 each.

March 8-14, 2010: Western New York Local Restaurant Week

As part of a promotion to entice guests to a number of area restaurants at more affordable prices, Western New York Local Restaurant Week will offer $20.10 fixed price meals at over 20 different local independent restaurants. According to organizers, diners will be able to sample different types of meals - in some cases a full meal, in others, an entree and a glass of wine - at the participating restaurants, which will offer the promotions for seven days in March.

Unlike the other Niagara Wine Trail events, this wine tasting runs across ten different Niagara Wine Trail wineries but doesn't use a single ticket admission system; you bring a $3 donation in exchange for a tasting at each participating winery, and non-perishable food items are separately accepted as donations. All proceeds and goods are donated to a local pantry. Participants need to schedule their own transportation from site to site, which is offered by local companies.
